How to Plan the Perfect Summer Vacation on Lake Chelan

It’s easy to stress out over planning the perfect summer vacation. Of course, if you’re coming to Lake Chelan, you’re already halfway there! So pack your swimsuit, sunnies, and plenty of sunscreen and come enjoy our beautiful valley!

Get in the Lake

Summer in Lake Chelan means an endless list of activities that get you out of the house and into the crystal-clear water we’re known for. Hit the lake for a refreshing dip! We’re conveniently located right across from Manson Bay Park so you’re never more than a couple of minutes away from a swim. Walk down to Shoreline Watercraft Rentals at the Manson Bay Marina to rent a boat or jet-ski and enjoy an afternoon of tubing, waterskiing or wakeboarding on the lake. You can also rent stand-up paddle boards or kayaks if that’s more up your alley. Want to be productive while relaxing? Grab your fishing pole and see if you can catch dinner!

Get Outside

As if the lake activities weren’t enough, there are just as many things to do off the water as there are on. Hiking, walking and cycling trails abound in our beautiful valley. Head up to Echo Ridge for 25 miles of trails varying in both difficulty and length. Expect stunning views and a great work out! Check out parasailing or skydiving for beautiful bird’s-eye views of the lake and valley, or rent electric bikes and cruise your way to relaxation.

Taste Some Wine

The Lake Chelan AVA is relatively new, but business is booming! Save a day for wine tasting and get a taste of all that Lake Chelan has to offer. From velvety reds to crisp, refreshing whites, there’s something here for every palate. Check our previous blog post for our guide to wine tasting that’s walking distance from your unit, or schedule a day to explore the whole valley. Check out the Lake Chelan Wine Valley website for a list of all the wineries in the area. Be sure to add a couple of cider tastings to your itinerary too! And don’t forget to assign a designated driver or sign up for a guided wine tasting tour.

Eat Good Food

There’s no shortage of delicious things to eat here, so you shouldn’t have to worry too much about your next meal. Check out Troy’s Pizza for some delicious pie. The kids will love it, the adults will love it, and after a day in the sun, you really can’t go wrong with a pizza. Try Lake Chelan Brewery for some delicious burgers and local brews. Down the road is the North Shore Cafe if you’re looking for ambiance and a wide variety of menu items to choose from. Alternatively, grab some groceries from Red Apple Market and head back to your fully-equipped unit to barbeque and enjoy a relaxing evening poolside!

Nightlife

The Lake Chelan Valley is THE place to be in the summer, and the hopping nightlife will prove it. Walk down to My Buddy’s Place to sing your best karaoke or dance the night away with friends. Plenty of places like WineGirl Wines, The Vogue and Steelhead Cider offer live music on the weekends. Catch a stand-up comedy show at Campbell’s for a night of drinks and lots of laughs or try your hand at cosmic bowling at Chelan Lanes. Even wandering downtown, people-watching and taking in the last of the day’s light can be an evening well-spent.

Stay with us at Marina’s Edge and you’ll never be far from the action. Your unit is walking distance to downtown Manson AND the lake, so you’ll have a prime location for your perfect Lake Chelan vacation. It’s our goal to make your vacation as easy and stress-free as possible. We recommend checking out our Casa Blanca unit if you’re bringing multiple families or prefer to have a whole house to yourself.

Happy planning!
